Pricing

So I am a bit of a cheap-sake... and I don't want to spend big bucks on nail polishes that will come off my fingers in 2 days. Because I swim and work in a deli i doesn't matter the quality it chips off. OPI and gel polishes chip less but after and hour of swimming some are ruined or after an hour of work there are chips. Because of this I don't worry about the quality when I buy them for myself. If I'm buying some to do nail art on my mom, her friends or my grandmother I will buy OPI or better since they don't ruin their nails quite like me... :)

So when I go to a store that sells polish I copy down all the polish types, their size and their price (not sale or club card prices) and I do all the math (in the wonderful Excel) and figure out price/mL.

I then organize it 2 ways, by brand and then another way is by price/mL

Shoppers Drug Mart

$/mL

So Shoppers is right in the middle of it all with a wide range of prices and brands

Target

Target has some really good prices but quality wise...

Sally Beauty

$/mL
As you can see Sally Beauty has some pretty good prices

Sephoa

$/mL
Sephora is more expensive but they do have some higher quality polishes

Average price/mL for all

$0.819771354/mL

So the average is high a little high because of the Sephora polishes but my rule of thumb is to buy polishes at less than  $0.60/mL

I also really try to avoid buying polishes at more than $1/mL because that just seems silly. But if you use gel polishes that gets hard to avoid :(
